Just finished my vortech ysi install and not sure if this is normal. I know the loud squeal is normal but how about the fan blades on the s/c intake? Are the exceptionally loud up close? (Working on getting my video up)

Hmmm, did you install it yourself? Have anyone familiar with these set-ups listen to it in person yet?

I have no shops nearby. Self installed with my dad. Closest shop would be about a 2 hour drive and I don't want to drive it that far if something is wrong.

Was kinda hoping that the others with Vortech YSI's would chime in with an up close video or clarify.

I have a YSI and yes I know the sound your talking about, it's normal. I hear the squeal and like a rattle sound coming off the YSI intake.

Noticeable with the hood open not much at all with it closed and specially not while cruising

At idle my little Vortech V3 has a kinda rattle sound to it also. I called Vortech and they said that just the way they sound. I just about bet all centrifugal's have some sort of sound that we have. like mentioned above you can't hear with the hood closed.
