How long do you let your cold air filters dry after washing!?!?

I have a Roto-fab intake and I washed it yesterday using the K&N kit. I took it off and washed it around 3:30PM. I woke up today and it didn't look dry to me AT ALL!! 18 hours isn't enough drying time?? It just feels 'damp'

I see a new filter in my future. Because I had to take a hair dryer on cool air for like an hour to get it to look dry. Because I have a date in a hour and a half lol. I've been waiting on this girl so I guess I'll sacrifice a filter.

Anyways, how long do you wait?

A friend of mine with an airaide cai intake washed his...let it dry for over a day...felt dry..put it in his mustang. When it fired up all kinds a lights went off...he had water in his throttlebody. So my guess would be at least to days in the sun..or wherever is warmest...I'm guessing of course.

I use the same method since my motocross days!

I use an air compressor to blow out the excess air from the inside of the filter. If it is sunny and warm I let it dry for a couple of hours in the sun. I lightly spray it to re oil, and re-install on Roto-Fab. I have had zero issues.

When I had the K&N in my GP GXP I bought an extra filter so I could clean one, let it dry and then re-oil it and still drive my car.

I purchased a second filter element... I usually wash/clean the filter, blow out anything else, then let it dry overnight before oiling it again...

Having the second filter has definitely paid off...

How often are you supposed to clean the rotofab filter? I just ordered one yesterday so I have not read any instructions yet.

Maybe I should go and order an spare filter too. I think that is most conventient for me since I drive my ZL1 on a daily basis to work.

I change out the filters when I change the oil. Probably more often than required, but doesn't hurt it. My car is also a daily, and it is always dusty here, so I keep it clean. Having the second filter is great as I don't have to wait to have some fun!

I clean and 're-oil mine in the winter since the car is in storage it does not matter if it takes a couple of days for it dry.

Cleaned my Airaid filter and stood it up vertically.
Most excess water drained out of it, then I put it in the sun for an hr,
re-oiled it and all was good.

To be safe you could do it at the end of the day so it dries overnight
in the engine compartment.

I have aftermarket filters on all my vehicles. I wash them, hit them with the air hose and put them back on. Never had a problem with any of them, but none are Fords.

Sometimes the MAF on Silverado gets wet when the water gets deep. It just acts like you pulled a couple of the plug wires for a day. Next day, back to normal.

Not trying to be a smart a##, but until they are dry. I would not even put one in damp.
