Pull your rain guard off, it will never rain again in SoCal

Let me shorten a loooong story (and your photo has helped me.)

My hood was repainted and up to this moment I thought the paint shop (or somebody) left the left side underhood panel off my car. If you lift the hood, from the front of the car there is a panel to the right of the rain guard, but there is no panel on the left side of the rain guard. I didn't want to pull my rain guard or touch anything until this missing left side panel got sorted out. But from your photo I can now see there is no decorative panel on the left side. And today I found out indirectly from a Ford guy the panel on the right side has something to do with making a seal for the air intake box, and is not for decorative purposes. So the bottom line is, now I can pull my rain guard.

Yes, there is no panel under the hood but the rain guard and the CAI close out.

Where is the C&C? So many different places have their own car shows but call it the same thing, wondering which one this is.

Nice cars!

Did you get any pics of the C7 ahead of the Z/28? It looks pretty crazy

No pics, but spoke to the owner. Amazing story made short: He bought a new C7. He was having trouble with it, so much trouble he wanted GM to buy it back. They said no. Then he found through OnStar the car was already in the name of the dealer's daughter. That was enough to get GM to agree to buy the car back. ON HIS WAY to pickup his new Corvette he got a phone call: He had won a new Corvette in the Corvette Museum raffle. He showed me photos of the event on his phone. So he got rid of his first C7, selling it back to GM, and he took the money he spent on it and put it into the car you see. All side panels and the door panels were reworked, even the gas cap. Borla exhaust. Scissor doors. New wheels, etc.

Mike, looks like it got a lot of well deserved attention. What are your impressions of the car so far? Also, what did they end up doing about your keys?

My keys were first made from the blanks they received. Dealers are in a tough spot. They have been told to use the blanks, but invariably the customer wants to buy an optioned or color of Camaro they did not cut a key for, and they are out of blanks to make another key.

Still accumulating enough miles for impression. Just put on 125 mile today.
