2012 new int...when will we see it?

When do you guys think we will be able to get the first peak at the new int? If we already have the spy shots (or so we think) of the new z28 that is coming out in 2012 (again...or so we think) then where is this new int!!!

I am right now trying to sell my current car to get into a 2011 2ss rs, but... I don't want to give up a car I love to spend more money on the camaro just to have it replaced shortly after by somthing better.

I was having the same problem with the z28 debate however im sure its going to be out of my price range anways?

just gathering some thoughts, please help me try to understand somthing there is no real answer to yet... haha

You can expect the 2012 models to start delivering around mid-year 2011. So you could expect to see the new interior somewhere between January and March of next year. That would be my guess. GM wont show any model year changes before then, as that might interfere with their current MY sales (as you mentioned.)

I personally would love to upgrade to an SS. However..... I am patiently waiting... and saving....for the Z/28.

hmm thank you. im still as i said trying to sell my car, and so far its been harder then I thought... the car im selling is not to friendly... but if you are saying jan - march of next year... and if it takes 6 weeks to order... I should prob just wait. and if I dont like the new int I can get a great deal on a 11 at that time.

Actually model year changes have never been officially announced until mid April - late May. With preorders starting between mid May - early June.

Unoffically we may find out at most a month earlier however you still won't be able to preorder a 2012 until May-June.

I don't think you'll see any interior changes until the 6th gen comes out. Which wouldn't be until 2016 or so. There has been rumors and finger-crossing but I think if any changes are made to the 5th gen, they'll be very minor.

If you love your current ride, keep it. Why would you part ways with it? If you want a Camaro, go on and get that '11 2SS/RS.

EDIT:

My bad, thought it was still rumor. Looks like there's gonna be a new steering wheel and dash. To the OP, if that's worth the wait for you, then wait.

They have already said the '12 Camaro will get a new interior.

Well i love my car but I am ready to try somthing new. and right now out of all the new cars, the camaro is the only thing that really draws my attention. so i have set my mind on getting a camaro just dont know if it would be worth me buying a 2011 or a 2012

and they did say that they will "rework" the int

This is the ONLY OFFICIAL word from GM and it doesn't even mention the Camaro. http://blogs.insideline.com/straight...y-of-audi.html

Quote:
Inside Line met with GM's Karl Stracke, who took over as the vice president of global engineering when Mark Reuss left to preside over GM North America. During the discussion, Stracke admitted that although General Motors has made progress on the interior quality front, it hasn't come far enough.

"We're not yet at Audi quality," he said. "I want to be at Audi quality. Audi is the benchmark for interiors."

Stracke continued, "I've driven the Corvette Grand Sport and I like it a lot, but the interior is not convincing."

Stracke, an engineer by training, has 30 years of experience at GM -- all on the European side. He's responsible for the design of a great many Opels, and he oversaw the engineering of the last-gen Saab 9-3.

He told us that under the new GM regime, he and his engineering team are able to put greater priority on checking out competitors' cars. Specifically, he and other top engineering executives reserve every Friday for driving cars on the proving grounds. Encouraging news to say the least.
Now UNOFFICIALLY a insider has said that GM is looking into redesigning the dash and that the majority of the changes are on the passenger side. However if those changes make into the 2012 MY remains to be seen.

Thanks. I didn't think anything was "official". Just lots of rumor, speculation, etc.

Audi is the benchmark indeed, but their prices reflect that. Audi's are upper-tier cars and as such higher quality is to be expected.

So while some improvements can be made in regards to things like less plastic, better leather, wood trim, etc. A price increase will be seen too. But this is a different debate for a different thread.

I personally have no problem with the Camaro's interior expect for the lack of lumbar support (which is important to me). But it is otherwise great and on par with the price.

My guess is we'll see some spy shots of the 2012 interior early next year (Jan, Feb, or Mar). I'm not expecting alot of changes.....maybe a different gauge cluster and a different center radio/HAVC control setup.
