Spare ECM?

Since several have talked about spare ecms to tune with so we don't get popped at the dealer, where do you get one? I've done alot of research. The E38 in these cars is apparently different from past E38s. The part number is different and I've been told something inside is different. anyone care to elaborate? Any vendors have spares for sale?

Still might be hard to get as most parts are'nt available in the parts bins. Best bet would be one of the aftermarket Tuners out there - Lingenfelter, Hennesey, ADM, etc.

Typically, you can order what you need for a tune and have them apply it to the computer before they ship it to you. That's how it worked for the Corvette...
