Real Top Speed of Camaro SS

I have done my research and as a 18 year old like to think I know almost all about our amazing machines. Limiter on the ss is 155. Once removed I remember reading a thread that said a stock ss could go 186 at top of 5th gear (assuming 6th gear was highway)
I just found an article stating a tuned zl1 hit 203 MPH. Does the zl1 have a different gearing ratio?
Hypothetically, could a modified SS with stock 3.23 Gears hit 200 MPH (say 700 RWPH)
What do you guys think!?

Everybody knows 4th gear is fastest and 5th/6th are both overdrive.

I do not know that this will be the case with the Camaro, but when we changed the engine in our 1986 SS Monte Carlo from the stock 305 (like 180 hp or so) to the ZZ3 crate engine (about 350 hp or so), and eliminated all the electronics that governed things like top speed, the care no longer was speed limited to 125 MPH. The interesting thing was that above that 125 mark, the nose of the car got very floaty and was not stable at all. I mention this because there are sometimes very good reasons to limit a vehicles top speed.

Several have topped the 200 mph mark, some estimates believe with the power they could hit 240

The stock ZL1 has a final drive ratio of 3.23 for the automatic and 3.73 for the manual transmission. I also has 580 HP (stock) so, yes... I would imagine a highly modified SS with 3.23 gears could hit 200 mph.

Its all about power and the length of the road.

With our gearing, I think 240 is theoretically attainable engine RPM wise, but you have to have the power to push you there and a road long enough to let you get to that point.

Realistically many modified SSs have exceeded 180 and a few have topped 200.

I read an article not to long ago that the LS3 is capable of producing speeds of 286MPH. Remember that's engine not car.
I forgot where I read it, I'll try and find It and post.

I find that if I switch over to Metric (KPH) that my car is much quicker and faster. I think the PCM/ECM and even the BCM has a European tune built in for the better gas and higher barometric pressures over there. I've been drive in the Metric mode since I discovered this.

The engine really does not have much say in the top speed, top speed is limited by drag and gearing. If you had low enough drag and enough gearing it could go as fast as you wanted.

The Camaro however does start getting a bit floaty over 130, it could use some aero to keep it planted, but aero will also hurt your top speed.

No! I know the European tune isn't compatible with the domestic BCM.

A6 have stock 3.23 gears - and driving at those speeds on a highway is pretty scary @ times. Doing 155 twice on I-70 was enough for me and the car was still stable. So hopefully you won't do what I did but if you do be safe.

And to answer your question I think it will come down aero but with that much power it properly will but having a tough time pushing through. Just need a few miles(Texas Mile would be perfect)of straight -
