I did mine and left the chrome outline.!!! you have to be very careful when you cut these out not to damage the chrome when using the dremel, razor blades, file, ect.

You can go to your chevy dealership and pick a bow-tie up for $25. I had my bodyshop cut it out, sand the 'flowtie' out, paint it, clear coat it and install it back on with the emblem delete.
