Muffler delete=drone!?
I just had the mufflers taken off my camaro and it has loud drone from 2000 to 3000 rpm! I was wondering if anyone else had this issue and does it tone down a bit. I have LS3 6m with the K&N intake system. I drive in the city more then the highway.

My LS3 with muffler delete does not have drone, only decel pop.

Yea, I definetly have the decel pop, love that. Would the diameter of the piping have an affect on the noise levels? I had the shop install new ss 4" tips and they used 3" piping.

I had a muffler delete on my Camaro. Didn't have to much drone but yeah I did have the decel pop. I don't know for sure if this is what reduced the decel pop, but I had a simple tune when I had my first intake installed and it seemed to reduce it A LOT. Look into it. Might help fix your problems.
Here's a couple of my vids after my tune to see if this is the sound you want...

thanks for the vids bumblebee matt, thats definetly the sound I'm looking for. I just spent some time driving the car around and I'm more used to it now but man is there ever a lot of decel poping going on! I like the decel pops but yours doesn't have any where near as much as mine does. As for the drone, I'm just gonna get some sound deadening material for the underside of the trunk mat and that should be fine.

I took my muffler deletes off and put a stock muffler system back on the car because I couldn't stand the decel popping which was amplified even more once I put on the JBA catted midpipes. It sounded like M80's were going off in my exhaust every time I would decelerate.

I used fat mat and did the hole floor of the trunk. And Battery well. Did not help much maybe 10% The OEM rubber mat would help the most I think. I have MRT mufflers on car. I get some drone at 2,000 rpm and the popping . I don't mind the popping its not that loud.

quick update. I laid some hushmat throughout the trunk and it did help. But as I drive it more the more I like it. Neighbors don't but I do lol. I only covered the sheet metal area below the trunk mat as well the inside of the spare wheel pump thing. I have more hushmat left over so I think I might lay some over the rear wheel wells and the underside of the rear deck where the speakers are. Even with the amount I did put in the car, it sounds a bit more solid back there. It was funny to me that GM didn't put any sound deadening material back there.
