Went looking at Camaro's today

Had a build list from the chevy website of what I wanted, however, since they are transitioning from 12 to 13 I can't get what I want right now.
Anyone know when the website will change from 12 to 13 on the build portion and if getting the 1LE will even be worth it, I understand it will have better suspension and a trans, but I wont be road racing the thing. And since it comes with no boost in HP, I dont know if it will be worth it to me.

I bought my 2012 in August of last year but the website build portion was still on model year 2011 so I'm guessing it might be the same for this year so your probably looking at August or September or later

Dont expect it real soon, the website update never seems to be a priority until the current production is over.

It depends what you want. Hell, an SS is overkill for most people.

I would get it if I was buying one. The drive train is beefed up but it also gets a factory 3.91 in the rear and different gearing in the tranny. It should make it a lot more "spirited".

When I was pricing 2012 models in 2011 chevy didn't update their website until September or October. It sucked waiting so long to do a build your own on the Internet. I wouldn't expect 2013 info up for a long time.

Well is like getting a 396 Camaro compared with a 327 Camaro in 69. Just depends what you want. Many wanted the 327 because it was lighter and just a platform to build from just like the LT engine. Some LT owners are now getting upwards of 350 hp with spacers and ported Intake manifolds. Add ported heads and headers with a tune and who knows what you will get.

Well I am getting a 2SS with the RS package for sure. Going to get it inferno orange with black hockey stripes painted on. I want to get the illuminated floor wells, premium floor mats, trunk mat, cargo net, body painted engine cover, hurst short throw, and heated seats.
I was VERY pleased with all the room I saw under the hood. Finally something you can stick a hand down and turn a wrench on, as someone who is pretty mechanically adept I should be able to install all the bolt ons I want. In the short term I would like to get a vararam and some sort of tuner out there, although i am not sure which tuner is the best for the short term. But from all I have read vararam is the best aftermarket intake.

You don't need the 3:91, the 3:45 seems perfect to me. 1st is good to 50MPH.

The SS suspension is already improved from my '11. So far all I have done was a $300 insert kit. I might change the sways. Still trying to decide.

Just IMHO.

The 1LE and SS will have the same overall first gear ratio. The ratios between gears 1 thru 4 will be closer in the 1LE. The 1LE also has taller 5th and 6th gear ratios. So the 1LE will be turning the same RPM on the highway as an SS with a manual transmission.

The 1LE seems like a much better starting point if you plan on modifying your car.

Actually, the website is one area where GM really drops the ball. They'll go well into production of the '13 before they ever update the website. Even then, it won't be 100% accurate.
