V6 cars today have *plenty* of oomph. I remember Car & Driver fawning all over the Ford Taurus SHO and the Dodge Spirit R/T back around 1990 as "very fast" cars. These were sedans with engines around 220hp. That sounded huge to me at the time, driving a 58hp Toyota Corolla. We have it pretty good right now. Just give CAFE a few more years to screw it up again....

Be proud of your car. It's a beautiful piece of machinery. Doesn't matter if it's a V6 or a V8. You bought what was right for you. Anyone trashes your ride for being a V6. Tell them to go kick rocks. |

Back in high school a long time ago, my 1988 IROC Z28 5.7L V8 only had 230hp and I don't believe that was at the wheel. I thought I had a fast car then. Your V6 at 312 is much better than that my friend! enjoy it, you have plenty of power.

You know the old saying "It's not the size of the wand ,but the magic in it."
Of course we all know that saying was made up by ,well um, let's say underachievers. LOL |

Unlike its competitors, the V6 Camaro has the same look as the V-8 version - in fact you have to know what to look for or you can't tell them apart on the road. Just watch an episode of Hawaii 5-0...
The Challenger RT's and SRT's are awesome looking cars, but the V6 versions are just... plain looking... blah. So are the Mustangs to a lessor degree.

love. my. car.

The engine size only matters to the driver. From an external POV, a V6 with RS package looks just as awesome as the V8. The exhaust note leaves a little to be desired with the V6 though, but that's nothing that a nice exhaust upgrade couldn't fix Even the V8's could sound better than stock, but stock on the LS3 is pretty nice for your average person. If I had already had a super performance car in my life, I'd probably have gotten the V6. but My last vehicle was a 150HP pickup truck and my vehicle before that was a bicycle. So I needed to see what 426HP felt like.
Grant it, I'm trying to live by the "I can admire you without having to acquire you" mantra, but that's hard to do with cars. I love them so much. I realized that all my recreation activities had something to do with spending money. It's sad, but true! I don't regret getting the V8 one bit! But the V6 definitely would've been more practical and been more in line with my anti-consumerism life goal haha.

outside the forum the engine doesn't really matter. i'd love a V8 don't get me wrong. but if we're talking about public opinion in the real world, hardly anybody can even tell the SS and LT apart.

You've got a great car, and anyone who tries to scoff your choice is the one with the problem! My LT2 is my baby, I don't care if it's not a v8. I don't need all that horsepower and if someone else does.. well.. ya like what ya like!

Yes, the V6 is a cool Camaro, but...it won't ever be the SS. It's like the little brother that likes to hang around it's cooler big brother. They both are awesome, but we all know who rules the roost.

to each his own man, i mean both cars look almost identical. I mean if you wanted a big engine or smaller because of preference, cost, ecomoics, etc. thats your choice. Of couse Im going to say i like the SS better, but I do not look down on your V6. I mean for all I know you have a better job, house, kids, etc that I have. Its all what you want. I would like to have the new ZL1 Z/28 whatever they care calling it today but IMO is to much money. Could I afford it yes but then I probably wouldnt have my boat or F250 SD either. But yet some guys can have it all, so its all what you think.
