vararam buyers which CAI are you getting: tune or none tune and why?

waiting on the PM from vararam. which one are you getting tune vs none-tuned CAIs. the non-tune being the weakest out the two is making me go to the tuned one. but I have not purchased my headers yet, so I would like to get my SS tune all together, thats where me getting the non-tuned one comes to mind. what are the pros and cons of the two? So what if the tuned one will throw a code, ill just put the stock air box back on.

thoughts?

My headers are throwing codes but I was gonna get a tune anyway so I clearly will be getting the tune only one. I'm not buying a 38k car to not have it's full potential, the headers and mufflers make a big difference but even those are better with a tune. Only reason not to tune is of your super concerned about warranty, I am not.

Also your point about throwing code, that's not the only reason it says tune only. Most likely you want get full benefits without a tune, so if your sure your not tuning probably better off with the non tune version. I would ask vraram to be sure but that would be my guess.

Get the no tune, You can upgrade to the tune unit later, The tune unit is to mach for a LS3 with only headers, I can't tell you more at this time.
And if you do a tune on the no tune unit you will see good numbers.

I wouldn't tune until you are satisfied with your "level" or "stage" of mods. For instance, I will not tune my car until it has CAI, headers, catback, cam. In my mind that makes a dope street car and I will be happy with that performance for a while. Tunes are not cheap so use them carefully! It all depends on how far you plan on modding your car. For some it may be CAI and catback but others it may be full bolt ons and heads/cam and supercharger. I believe tuning after each mod is just wasting your money.

I'm getting the tune version. We are still doing the beta tune on the car so multiple tunes are not an issue.

Why i need the tune vararam is for next year's LSX 454 from GM with a cam and head work it will be in the 650-720 rwhp so i need at least 2000 cfm of air for all that HP.

Unless I go with a blower, my only mods will be DT Shorties, !mufflers, and either the tune or no-tune VR CAI. Either way I'm getting the car tuned once I put the CAI on the car.

I think I'll let the engineers @ Vararam tell me what I need.
