Question on a 92 Camaro

I have a question i have a 92 camaro rs 305 V8 engine with only 69,000 miles on the motor. i have this problem and i can't find out what it causing this i always have to check the engine oil. i check the dip stick to see if it has oil it does but i have to add more. the car is not smoking of any kind of smoke so i don't know if it's buring the oil or not. has this happened to any one here on the site with there 3rd gen. i did a compression check with a high performance shop and they told me i have 5 brand new cylinders and 3 that are still semi new.

When you pulled the spark plugs did they look black or any one of the plugs obvisouly worse than any of the others? if you have black soot or gunk on the spark plugs then you are burning your oil how often and how much oil are you haveing to burn and if you are burning oil most likely it is your valve guides which is fixable

i do notice black rings aroud the spark plugs when i change them is this bad i don't want to mess up my motor since i am trying to keep it stock. i change the oil like every 4 months since i really don't use it as much. are the valve guides hard to fix if it is the problem.

im talking about the area of the plug that you screw into the motor usually they are brown or a little black but the valve guides may be the problem and usually your gonna need to take it to a grage to have fixed should be more than a few hundred the parts are cheap but labor is expensive but first check around the motor to make sure your not leaking anything park your car and something clean for a few days like cardboard and look to see if your leeking anything ...... your motor is a pretty tough one and if your burning or leaking a 1/2 quart to every 4 months of driving then you dont really have any problems

if you say its black were you screw them in them there may be a leak coming from your valve cover gasket that is located just above the spark plug try looking around the valve covers to see if there is any fresh oil i also looked at you other form about the starting problem now when your car clicks does it eventually start or do u need a jump if your needing a jump you may need to have yor battery checked this can be done at auto zone for free if thats ok have your charging system checked your can do this at auto zone also or is u have a voltmeter you should be putting ot 13.5-14 into your battery when the car is rinning
