Cut-outs? NoWeeds?

oval cutouts or noweeds? wouldn't putting them in front of the cat make more sense? I want a normal sound and a nasty sound.. what's best?

depends...

do you have hi flow cats? If so, then you will only gain about 1HP. If not you will gain about 5HP.

do you have a tune? If not, you will likely throw a code when you open them.

are to trying to make extra HP or just be loud as hell? ... you wont get much HP no matter where you put them. for HP from an exhaust mod, you need headers... thats where the restriction is.

even if you wanted to put them in front of the cats... I dont think that there is enough room for noweeds or the QTPs.

After a lot of thought and reading, I am putting mine just before the mufflers. I want to be able to have them open for longer than 10 seconds. Exhaust gasses and drone are too bad when they are under the seat. And... the corvette with the mild to wild option is just a muffler bypass and it sounds awesome.

what's the problem with throwing a code. I'm not even sure what that means.. is it still loud when u put it right before the muffler?
so u suggest noweeds over QTP?
If you did this and Headers would it be mediocre loud closed and really loud open or really loud either way? does headers void warranty?

Actually if you do some research on the site a lot of guys actually experience power loss especially on the low end due to lack of back pressure...

thrown code = check engine light

yup, just as loud but directed away from the cabin

headers will void the exhaust warranty... depending on the dealer, it may void more or less........ but the cutouts will probably do the same warranty damage as the headers (I guess they are easier to hide).

headers alone will sound awesome (even with the stock mufflers)... headers and cutouts sounds like a firey demon. There are many threads about the firey demon setup .. I had open headers (and HF cats) for a few days and... it is awesome.... but it is not tolerable on the interstate when cruising. You get tierd of it quick.

I have QTP... not installed yet. Noweeds sure does look a lot easier to install. Its just hard to spend almost $1000 for 2 actuated butterfly valves and some bent pipe. If I had a money tree, I would get the noweeds.

Well voiding the "exhaust" warranty doesn't really make a difference because that's what is being changed anyways. I know they wouldn't cover some aftermarket header but would it void any engine warranty? That may be something I would have to ask my dealership..

yup, all dealerships are different. Some may even tell you that headers are ok... but then try to nail you when you go in for service.

keep your stock stuff and you can bolt it on when you go for major engine service.
