Question 275/40s on a 10" wheel?

Have to go 10" on all four corners to get the concave look I want- but as I understand it, running a wider tire than 275 up front is unwise. If it will work, the plan is 10" wheels on all four corners, 275/40/20 up front, 315/35/20 rear. Thoughts?

Am I looking at a ton of stretch? Anyone running this setup?

Thanks fellas.

I never understood running the same wheels front and rear but with different tires.

But anyways, it will depend 100% on the tire. Some will look perfect some will look stretched.

Pretty sure 315s will rub up front, unless I'm misinformed. Looking at NTO Invos...

That, they will. You can run them in back, but not up front.

By the way, you'll like the INVOs.

Revo, what offset are you looking to go with on those wheels that you like?

That will be a big factor in how well things may work out for you.

I have 20 by 10's wheels all around with +40 offset - I am running 275s up front and 305s in the back...

I initially had some issues with inside clearance on the front, was able to get stock camber setting, but not aggressinve autocross settings.

I sence have installed Pedders coil overs which gives me an additional 10 mm clearance up front and all is fine now for more agressive camber settings.

Search would never have turned that up. And do you know ho many members there are on C5? Not my first rodeo, on the forum anyway. What you could do though, is post some pics please...

I believe the offsets are +40... Still getting the hang of the whole offset thing

Revo, I would recomend that you verify what the offset is on the wheels that you like...

I would advise not going with anything greater than +40 on the front.

Based on my experience if you have stock struts something in the range of +20 to +30 would be best.

14,96 posts! I guess this ain't your first rodeo! LOL

I too am trying to get the hang of all of this rim business. I want to run 275/315, but with the Motivo tire, but there rim width recommendations are:
275/40/20 - 9.0-(9.5)-11.0
315/35/20 - 10.5-(11.0)-12.5

I want to run a 10/11 setup, but I am having a hard time finding what I want.

Actually, the 275 on the front is a very wise thing to do. The extra footprint on the ground really helps the turn into a corner much better. That is why the ZL1 comes with a 20x10 front with a 285.

Revo, JRT:

There are several Rim & Tire web sites that can be helpful for selecting the best combinations for new wheels and tires. Here is my favorite:

http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp

This is what it shows for comparing stock front verses rear wheel-tire combinations and what you would see if you placed a stock rear wheel-tire combination on front.

Please consider using to help make your choice for new configurations.

Regards.
