factory tunes
So I own a 2014 camaro ls and was looking into specs for the v6 when i came upon the fact that the ls model camaros are limited to 118 mph while the rs models are limited to 155 mph and was wondering if you swapped the tune on an ls to that of an rs if that would void the warranty because I read that the reason the limit the ls to 118 mph is due to its tires and not the motor so i feel like it wouldn't void the warranty but was wondering if anyone knew a definitive answer

I think the dealer can do it for $$$$, but you will need to have at least V-rated tires on it for "liability" reasons.
That is, unless you can find mod friendly dealer that can do it with the original tires. However, I think they would want a higher speed rated tire to even consider it. The OEM BF Goodrich tires are T- rated which are only good for 118 mph max speed. |

Unless the dealer does the flash, it "can" void the warranty if GM deems fit to blame it on a tune for whatever reason.
But if you are racing your car, or going over 118 to begin with, you really SHOULD get a proper tune on the car... these LFX stock tunes are pretty crappy.

If that's the case, then give it a go at the dealer. One thing to consider is, they may decline if the rims and tires are not the upgraded OEM style. So, it may be better to just get an aftermarket tune or wait until the powertrain is up.
