Good luck, you probably won't be getting one until at least 2013. As far as I'm aware all the dealer allocations have been used up until they give some more out....

You need to start calling dealers and see if they have any open allocations. Some dealers are selling for MSRP, a lot are selling $5,000 to $10,000 over MSRP. One member went to Edmunds.com and found a dealer with an allocation at MSRP. Do a search on this site, it was not too long ago. Good luck.

The best way to find ZL1

Look at my "How to order ZL1" post. The best way to find a dealer with an available allocation is to use www.edmunds.com. It seems that this site may have a way to find dealers with allocations available. It worked for me. On 11/23 I put an electronic request thru this site to 5 delaers and within 10 minutes had 2 dealers willing to sell me ZL1 for MSRP. From this I have a confirmed official order with a deposit.

1) Edmunds.com locates 5 dealers per zip code you input.
2) Go to new cars/Chevrolet/Camaro ZL1/Order with options
3) Fill out your options then chose contact dealer and 5 dealers will come up. check box and submit.
Their internet sales group will be contacted electronically.
4) You can use several zip codes in your area to get dealers which are within driving distance.
5) THERE ARE AVAILABLE ALLOCATIONS OUT THERE.

Good Luck

Depending on where in Ca your family is, there are dealerships here that have allocation and haven't sold them yet, but they are marked up.

When I used Edmunds I got several dealer responses as follows

2 were for MSRP price and were very nice and professional. I placed order with one of these.
1 said they were selling by auction, wow who would do that.
3 said they were marking up
1 tried to sell me Camaros on the lot even though in the comments section I put "Offer for a Camaro ZL1 at MSRP only. Do no contact with other offers or services"

So based on this if you try you WILL find one for MSRP.

I do not know how Edmunds does it but it seems there system lists only dealers with available allocations. It is up to you to negotiate.

You can try various zip codes to get more dealer inquiries.
