I wish I could get my 60' down below 1.7 !! I can't seem to find that balance of throttle and clutch when launching !! I will keep practicing...

More Rear Gear and A Softer hitting clutch will help a bunch.

I run a Stick car my self, I leave at 7200 RPM and the clutch slides in for 1.32 60 fts.

Listen to the engine RPM it pretty much hangs up there because the clutch absorbs all the shock.

In this video I actually had just a little too much clutch in it, and I have since backed it down for more slip.

This is just an example to get a better understanding of drag racing with a clutch.

The Clutch must be the Fuse in the Drivetrain or parts break.

Hope this helps.

Ted.

I don't Daily Drive this car, but I want it to be very streetable, which clutch do you think would be best for a 700+hp car? I currently have the LPE ZR-1 Clutch.

I run a Mcleod Soft Loc and it is streetable, but it is fairly high maintenance, and fully adjustable.

I wonder if they can build one to fit the Camaro, Just have not had the chance to call them and discuss it.

I would think they could.

Thanks for the info Ted.. I am not trying to break records, but like to keep improving my times. I have only made a few passes with the new 417 motor. So far the clutch seems to be holding, but i don't know for how long.

Your welcome, I realize that, I am just trying to share some of My Clutch experience.

The ZR1 clutch is in my opinion the Best clutch you can put in one of these cars with big power for the street but it is NOT an Drag Race Clutch and will Break everything in the drive train, and does not do well with slipping it.

There is so much mass it overheats easily and you can't really cool it down properly between runs, this will destroy the Discs and warp the surfaces of the flywheel, pressure plate and floater plate.

A big hole in the bottom of the bell and a Leaf blower can be helpful.

Ted.
