ZL1 vs Z06
So how close of a race would it be? New ZL1 vs New Z06? Who would win on the drag strip and who would win on a road course?

Z06.. For both. Especially on a road course with the z07 package. The z06 is lighter and I think the power/weight is more favorable. The difference is cost in a new z06 and new zl1.. It depends if you want a light weight two seater or a larger 2 plus room for two 10 year olds in the back, super muscle car.

Drivers being equal. I'm still betting my money on the Z06.

In the 1/4 mile with equal drivers, the Z06 would destroy the ZL1.
I'd pick the Z06 in the road course as well, but that's just an assumption on my part. I'm sure someone can come up with some track time comparisons.

I haven't seen any base vettes here in Utah run better than a low 13 second 1/4. So I'm pretty sure a ZL1 would stomp a base vette in the 1/4. A Z06, that's another story. Don't think that is possible. The ZL1 has more HP and torque, but the Z06 is much lighter and oh so nimble..

At a DA of 5000'+ I think low 13's is about right.

DA isn't the issue in the argument, the best a bone stock on stock tire time for a ZL1 is 11.9 right now and that is debatable, the best bone stock on stock tire time for a LS3 C6 is 11.7....................
if the Vettes run 13s at your mountain high DA then ZL1s will too.................
