Brand new / new Camaro :D

Hi Everyone!

I'm brand new to Camaro5, mainly because I just bought myself a brand new Camaro yesterday 2014 Camaro 2SS RS w/ 1LE. Literally 34 miles, Black leather interior, silver dash trim, blue accent lighting, 6 speed manual. I absolutely love it!

This baby is straight off the lot. How do you guys recommend I take care of it during it's break in period? I've never owned a new car before, and as extremely hard as it is, I don't want to stretch its legs until I pass the break in. Any advice?

Thanks everyone, i'm excited to be here

-Ex 2002 T/A WS6 owner

Stay away from clunkers and trucks without mud flaps. Never park between two cars, as it will only be a matter of time before someone hits you with their door or rubs against your car. I also recommend using a car cover when parked outside for long periods of time.

Congrats. She's beautiful! DEFINITELY read your Owners Manual for break-in, and all of the other things that you might not know about.

Very important...keep her under 200 mph, especially in the city.

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Drive it like you stole it. You have to get the rings to seal properly in the first few miles.

Yep - she's a beauty! If she were mine, I'd follow the Owner's Manual advice... regardless of what others may say about "drivin' her hard". GM knows best.

Especially significant for the first 1,500 miles is 1) no WOT, 2) don't exceed 4K RPM, including when downshifting, 3) no cruise control - vary driving speeds.
