tic-tic-tap-tap

Has anyone else had this problem ? each day after the first start up I drive about 1.5 miles down hill and stop for a red light. Then I will hear a ticking and tapping sound comming from the rear of the car, sounds like someone tapping with a key on the finder. This will only happen after the first start each day. Weard--dealer is baffeled also..

so im NOT crazy. I'm in the same boat, if I had to put a place on it I would say rear driver-side tire well. The down side is that I don't hear it long enough to find it.

Ever heard of the urban legend of the Detroit autoworker that wired a bolt to tap on the fender of the car. Drove the new owner crazy for 20 years, til he got in a fender bender and replaced the fender and body shop found the bolt.

Yes, its the fuel pump pressure equalizing. You'll noticed that it sounds like its coming from the trunk area. Freaked me out the first few times as well.

I get it to, only once a day in the morning after I back down my driveway, and pull out. Happens about 50-60 feet down the road, then its gone. If anyone finds out let me know.

Yep, mine does it too...it's the fuel pump...your car is not possessed.

Unfortunately, this is accepted as normal. I would like to hear a engineering excuse why.
