Camaro "Spring Special Edition"- Anything New?

Well, I made the mistake of going to the autoshow. Long story short, I caught the convertible bug and at 6'-5", I can't fit in many of them. But the Camaro works. I test drove a manual 2SS and loved it.

I put together my dream build on the website and then found the 'Spring Special Edition' which was pretty similar to my build. According to information here and elsewhere, dealers were able to take orders beginning in November. However, none of the dealers I've engaged know anything about it.

So, I've got questions. First, have any been delivered yet? Anyone here have one? Or, is GM accumulating orders for an actual spring delivery? Is the MSRP for a 2SS convertible known? Searching here revealed a package price of $5995 but strangely, you don't get offered that option on the Chevy website.

Any further information anyone can provide would be appreciated.

I wouldn't think orders would happen until later this month or at latest mid February. That's about the time GM does any mid year color & special edition additions.

From the Chevy Website:

Quote:
Camaro is ushering in a new season with a sleek array of options to surpass the standard with the 2014 Spring Special Edition – available in 2LT and 2SS Coupe or Convertible models.
The aggressive stance of the iconic performance car is sharpened by the Summit White exterior and new Blue Ray stripe paired with 21-inch Dusk wheels.1 Other exterior elements include the front grille in gloss black, gill decals, hood insert in blue (SS only), blue convertible top, blue sharkfin antenna (Convertible only) and ZL1 rear spoiler (Coupe and Convertible). To match the sharp exterior styling, the interior features blue accents and premium accessory floor mats.
Further amplify the look and feel of your Camaro with the RS package, which includes HID headlamps and LED taillamps. Other available options include a sunroof, dual-mode exhaust and navigation radio.2 The 2014 Camaro Spring Special Edition will be available to order starting November 2013.
As far as pricing, expect it to be around what the Hot Wheels Special Editions prices are/were. Can't believe the dealers you talked to are idiots (although depending on who it is it wouldn't be a stretch). They HAVE to know something by now.

LOL, they know something now because I told them about it! as one salesman explained to me...he has to know something about all the models. There's no way he can know as much about a specific model as a focused buyer doing his research. (!) The truly amazing thing is, they STILL cannot give me specifics after I explain it to them.

The car I spec'd out was pretty close:

2SS 6MT; Summit White; gray seat inserts; gray full length "Indy" stripes; RS; shifter: exhaust: windscreen; mats and cargo net. MSRP = $46,675.

For a 6k premium on the special edition, I'd stick with your regular order.

Just add $5995 to your MSRP of your spec car.

That's not going to work because there is some overlap. The SSE may be slightly less than my MSRP.
