Do you remember when the ZL1 was about to be released and shortly after the release the general opinion on the forum was that the ZL1 was perfect and would not be modded? The 1LE buyers had no illusions. They are buying the 1LE to mod like addicts.

I would agree with this. No or few mods ZL1. Mid to heavy mods 1LE.

Thus far it has been great.

Too much tech for me to figure out yet as far as the Audiconnect stuff.

Also feel like I'll never get to properly "use" the car.

A4 is basically a small car. Ingress and Egress however are worse than our Cruze. Headroom is a bit cramped for me too.

DCT is pretty much pure awesomeness. GM needs this in a big way. Lightning fast shifts.

Acceleration is simply linear. Pulls hard from a stop and doesn't seem to let up at least to the speeds I've accelerated to

Pure Audi refinement. Every company needs to figure this out. As I mentioned before, the Cadillac has all kinds of flash. But Audi simply has mastered refined quality for materials, gap and flushness and tactile feel.

Have to play more with the Drive Select. Can adjust steering, suspension and exhaust from comfort to dynamic and you can customize combinations.

For the most part wayyyyy more performance than I'll be able to use.

Big drop in FE for my commute. Cruze was 26.5 and this is getting around 18 for the same drive. But that's expected for 500 pounds more, AWD and 333 HP But then Mrs. Numer 3's new job has a bigger commute so the Cruze FE is offsetting mine.

All in all, pretty satisfied.

Now if I can just figure out why I can't stream music over bluetooth when my phone connects with the cars WiFi hot spot.

Thank's for the review. It pretty much sounds how I thought it would sound.

DCT.... GM are you listening?

Dual Clutch Transmission

Basically it acts like an automatic but it has two drive lines, gears 1,3,5,7 and 2,4,6 on the other. So when you are in 1st, 2nd gear is already engaged and you are just going back and forth between the two clutches. So it is "pre shifted" if that makes sense.

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/dual-c...ansmission.htm

Early units had driveability issues at slow speed and launch. New ones it's nearly identical to driving an automatic.

Basically shifts are faster than a manual or automatic can do because you are just alternating clutches.

The smoothness of the 1LE is unbelievable. It only has one clutch but I swear the shifter is intuitive. (thats an English word Pete... means it knows what I want beforehand ) .

Hey there is nothing wrong with one clutch an extra peddle and a lever to row the gears. A DCT isn't intuitive as the darn computer is faster and smarter than me. But I'm old I need that.
