I was running 665 RWHP on mustang dyno with complete stock engine.
11.5 psi of boost and meth. This was achieved with "safe" tune, meaning no KR's with 93 octane. There was still room for more power, but kept it that way in case of bad tank of gas. Plan was to push it real hard at LSX shoot out last year here in Indy, but stock clutch didn't want any part of it. With good tune and meth you can push it to 14 psi, but it is a ticking time bomb. Just swapping cam on stock long block will gain 40-50 Hp.

Atlanta Performance and Fabrication (www.atlpf.com) helped me with a ProCharger D1 with a wastegate. 620 and running 10's. I it at the track with just a can of Torco per tank. Next week I'm putting in an electronic boost controller. I run 9.5 lbs of boost now on a 7 lb spring (on the WG). I plan on running up go 11 lbs. And I will be thrashing it at the LSX Shootouts here in Georgia in a few weeks. Padre |

Thanks again guys for all your feedback. This forum rocks
Keep them coming! It seems like many of you are in the 600s safely... My plan is to add a small blower cam, swap my rear pulleys around and add a 3.8 inch front pulley to make about 9.5psi of boost, and use the meth primarily for safety and to keep the power loss at a minimum from heat. Goal is to be around 650 whp safely..... |

I was running meth and blending about 3 gallons of Sunoco 104 with every tank of 93 octane. I would occasionally add 1/2 can or TORCO accelerator to each tank for the same effect. All the octane in the world dont help if you dont run enough injector.

I had my car done by ECS about a month ago. Their S/C setup with the ALKY kit. I'm just shy of 650rwhp. I'm going back down in a week to get a new tune because I'm installing headers and I'm anticipating being very close to the 700rwhp mark. Those guys really emphasize about a high octane and using quality meth to run safely. You're in good hands with them and you'll never regret it. By-the-way, I use this as my daily driver.

It's not the engine you need to worry about, if done correctly. The LS3 is a great engine.
It's all in how you drive it as to how long the drive train will stand up to the abuse. clutch, trans, and rear end will deteriorate, it's a matter of time before they wear out or break. |
