Strut Compressor help

Hey all!
I started my trailing arm/tie rod installation today and ran into a stupid problem. I was trying to get the shock back into the lower control arm and somehow when I had my foot on the shock, the spring came out from the upper strut mount. (I know....stupid) I went to AutoZone and got this spring compressor: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=555557_0_0_ and am having problems with it. It seems like the poles are too long and I can get the spring to compress far enough without the compressor hitting the top mount. I have only found one thread on here showing a different kind of compressor, but have never seen one like that. I know most say you dont need a compressor, but since Im staying with the stock springs, I dont think Id be able to get the spring back on. Can anyone comment on what compressors they used and where they got them?? Thanks!

I used the one you rented from auto zone. It should work.
