Mine makes the low speed chatter but that's definitely gear slap in the trans.. The problem I have is the car has 12000 miles and the clutch still smells if I peddle it just a tiny bit. I also feel like the clutch is engaging higher and higher on the peddle. I'm disgusted with this car already.. I don't even want to take it to the dealer because I know I'm gonna get aggravated. Is this clutch in the 1LE the same as the LS7 clutch a lot of the Vette guys prefer? I've searched but can't confirm it. It's a shame because I love this car but the clutch is making it a miserable driving experience.

We would recommend looking at other options besides the LS7 clutch for an upgrade. It has a separate list of complaints, especially when used in performance applications.

I get the clutch chatter as well. I'm at just under 16K miles. I can't remember when I first noticed this, however, it probably was at least 6k miles ago. The problem is more noticeable the less you slip the clutch and the more of a load there is on take off.

Mine chatters too at low rpm but I'm kind of used to the chatter and drive line clunk as I've owned 4th gen f-body's,c5's,gtos and 03/04 Cobras and they all seem to clunk and chatter .. In my opinion it's always been more noticeable on performance cars with the independent rears

I absolutely HATE the clutch chatter when DD this car. However at the track I have zero complaints about the drive line. Since that's what I got it for I deal with the chatter and just b1tch about it the rest of the time...

As designed. No fix intended!

Seriously, this is a performance clutch. It's not a Honda or Toyota.

I blew up my clutch and replaced it with a Monster Race Clutch which chatters even MORE. Here are a couple things I learned from our brethren on this forum:

1. Don't idle or sit in traffic with your clutch depressed. Results in excess wear of the throw-out bearing.

2. Don't rev and dump the clutch. Rev to 1K and have your clutch fully out so that you're accelerating with only Torque - no clutch.

3. Keep Dot 4 fluid in your brake/clutch line or separate the two and use Dot 4. Whichever path you take keep the fluid CLEAN. I went with a Wildwood large reservoir and a Tick bleeder line.

Honestly. Over time you'll eliminate the chatter by learning to drive differently. Trust yourself. You don't need a new clutch.

Bringing up an old thread here, my stock clutch with 23000 miles is chattering only when hot, and especially after a good session of being stuck in traffic.

Stone cold it's flawless, takes a solid hour of driving to have clutch chatter.
