High Mileage 1LE Question

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have a higher mileage 1LE that they have raced regularly? Say 80K miles plus? How has it held up? What are the major issues you’ve run into? I’ve dug through the 1LE portion of this site and the autocross portion, haven’t seen much with regards to high mileage 1LE’s that have been raced.

I have a 15 SS 1LE with 26K miles that is my daily driver and am considering using it as an autocross/track car too. Would most likely be going to 2 autocross events a month.

Thanks in advance!

There are many cars out there with high mileage that race or autocross. My car has 75k miles on it but has been very well maintained and is my daily driver and I race it frequently. There is a thread where the owner has 185k miles or so daily and never had any problems, these cars are made to be driven.

If properly maintained , and not abused there is no reason it should be a problem other than resale value. You will go through tires, and clutches pretty quickly . I have seen 2 LS 2 engins go over 200000 miles without ever being opened up . Good solid design ,but we all know that.

I had a 2011 SS I rode HARD for 90k miles. When I sold it, it still ran like new.

I had a modified '13 1LE, tracked it regularly and sold it at 120,000+ miles. It was showing wear, but ran well. Don't be worried, enjoy the car!
