Oh, speculate? Sure I can speculate all day.

The first little bit of "gamesmanship" was to let Ford announce their V6 HP, and then trump them. LOL at that one.

But seriously, you can bet your last bottom dollar that GM is working every day to make the Camaro a better car. Even if Ford hadn't made a big leap with the powertrains to "catch up" to GM.

All GM vehicles are continually evaluated against the competition, application of new technologies and just simple continuous improvements.

What actually makes it to production is a different story but the men and women at GM work hard every day to make sure that we design, build and sell the best vehicles (wait I've heard that somewhere), and that includes the Camaro.

So good things are coming. But as for details on what? I regretfully deny any specific knowledge that could be misinterpretted as fact or something resembling the truth, or a near truth that could ultimately be interpretted as fact.

From what I've read Ford is underating it's HP (again). Is this factored in when out doing them? And, I'm still concerned that the handling of the Mustang's rigid axle "according to the mags" is better than the Camaro's IRS (say what!).
Thanx

A lot of what you read is BS. Both mustang engines are SAE rated, and are not underrated. Magazine idiots are responsible for calling a vehicle underrated after some chassis dyno results and funny math. As for the solid axle handling better, they usually down play the poorer ride quality that comes with those "better" handling numbers the Mustang achieves. The Camaro irs handles many situations very well, including everyday driving around town. The point is, GM can easily offer a stiffer suspension package to achieve better skid pad numbers, but the current balance is probably more agreeable for the majority of people.

You may quote me anytime. I must always assume that what I post is well read by people who can have a negative influence on my career. Hence "masterfull" ambiguity.
