L99 cars please try this test

Hello,

If you have an L99 please try this test and let me know what happens.
With the car in Drive and traction control on, find a spot where you're driving along at 45-50mph and then can make a left turn.
Pull into the left turn lane a little on the throttle, not crazy but a little aggressive, coast to almost a stop, then push the gas pedal to make the turn a little aggressive, like there is traffic coming at you, and please let me know if you experience any kind of lag when you push the throttle to make the turn.
My wife's 2011 L99 has this lag, with and without a tune, but I have experienced it in every drive by wire car I've ever driven, so I don't think there's much that can be done about it.

Thanks
Brian

The lag is probably due to the stability control. Your probably breaking the tires loose a little.

AFM is usually the issue. There is a noted lag when the car has to switch from 4 cyl to 8 cyl.

It's not AFM, it happens with and without the tune. The tune turned off AFM.
It's definitely not breaking the tires loose, it would need to repsond to do that.
When this happens, just like on other drive by wire cars, there is no response to the throttle for at least a whole second. Then it goes like mad.

Then the only other thing that I can think of is the torque management feature (on by default in the factory tune). When you hit the gas, electronics decide how much power gets to the wheels. It's not like the good old days when all of your HP/torque were at the other end of the throttle cable.

Give torque management a search and see if that fits the issue you're having.

Is it slow to down shift? Did the tune change anything in the transmission?

Get a ported TB, that will "help" with the lag.

I'll check the MAF, after researching that, it could be part of it.
The car has the CAI cold air, Dynatech full length headers cat back exhaust, with the Janetty tune.
When I asked Janetty what was done in the tune he did for me, he mentioned Torque Management, but he didn't say what he did to it.

It doesn't seem to be slow to downshift.

I would call Jenetty and explain the symptoms. They may have an answer for you.

Also, if you have a wet filter on your CIA and that oil gets all over the MAF, you'll have problems similar to this. It's worth a look too.

If you are aggressively turning, and hitting the throttle, you are gonna break the tires loose, so if you have stabilitrak or traction control on at any level (i.e. not completely off), then it will feel like its bogging down the engine, so you keep traction
