CTS V coupe vs 2014 GT500

I thought you guys here on the Camaro 5 would enjoy this video. Last Friday night at Famoso test and tune in Bakersfield. I made 2 passes. The weather was HOT, 98 degrees at 10pm, DA was 3506'. I arrived at 8pm and let the car sit 2 hours. I decided to look for a fun race and found a new 2014 Shelby GT500 with performance pack and track pack. Car was about 3 weeks old but the owner had just sold his 2007 GT500, so he had experience. I have a 2012 CTS V coupe, 6-speed manual, AIRAID CAI and a tune (RPM Motors, Charlie, Santa Clarita) otherwise all stock, my 3rd time at the track with the V (but not my 3rd trip) I'm 66 years old and been driving stick shift cars since 1964 (my senior year), so I challenged the GT500 since he was also on street tires. Like I said the weather was hot so the times aren't great....but nobody was running that good. My buddy filmed the race on his phone, but he owns a 2011 GT500 so he was pulling for the Ford, our friend Mike says to him ("the old guy can drive"), thus the "shut your mouth Michael" comment....and I think the crowd wanted the GT500 also...based on the groans at the finish. Here's the result:
CTS V...RT .002, 60' 2.228, 1/8th mile 8.368 @ 91.66, 1/4 mile 12.637 @ 116.23

GT500 ..RT .304, 60' 2.238, 1/8th mile 8.407 @ 89.94, 1/4 mile 12.696 @ 116.59

winning margin .3618 (about 3 cars)

I also ran a new 2013 Camaro ZL1 an hour later. The ZL1 was stock, 6-speed manual also. Result:

CTS V...60' 2.202, 1/8th mile 8.423 @ 90.58, 1/4 mile 12.706 @ 115.61

ZL1......60' 2.257, 1/8th mile 8.601 @ 87.13, 1/4 mile 13.043 @ 111.21

Enjoy the video

I looked at that video really close at the beginning...especially the tail lights. I am pretty sure that is not a 2014 or 2013 GT500. Those years had the led tail lights. The 2010- 2012 GT500 had that style depicted in the video. I would guess that car to be 2010-2012 which has similar HP rating to the CTS-V, hence the closeness of the race and the CTS-v pulling off the win.

Pretty sure the 2013 GT500 already went 11.6-11.7 STOCK @ 123-125 multiple times.
