Now with the new build I am throwing over 700 lbs of torque and 600+ HP at launch and am learning a new clutch. The first three runs of the year Harry was experiencing extreme wheel hop to the point that the back end was bouncing off the full compressed springs. Which in turn was causing my stock trailing arms and toe links to flex which was causing the camber to freak out and I was not making good contact with the track. We installed BMR suspension parts Friday and went out Friday night to check it out. They seem to have fixed the wheel hop issue and are now hooking up much better. However, I still have to learn the clutch and find my optimum launch RPM's I feel very good about the set up now and just need to get out there and play around until i find the right combo. Bottom line clearly the HP and trap speed are there and now I just need to get it to the track and chew the 60's down and the ET's will follow.
Larry,

Did you do the rear cradle bushings or trailing arms and toe rods only? I keep hearing more and more about what a huge difference these bushings will make when it comes to the launch. I wish I would have done them but I'm too anxious to get the car back to add them now!!!

You know I have been going to Bandi pretty regular for the last 3 years and for the life of me I dont remember seeing you down here. Are you racing in Julesburg? Hopefully, next time you are at the track we can hook up and run a few races...

No cradle bushing but Don swears by them...And I cant say that I blame you for wanting to just get your car rolling again...

I dont really go very often... all the testing and learning i have gained from running in the streets. also I have owned different cars over the past 3-4 years. i never been to julesburg or douglas. been to bandimere in my C5 twice only in 07. in my black C6 i only went there 3 times. in the Z06 I did 3 track days (one was scuba's track day) in bandimere and 2 were in PMI. other times I only go to watch or test friends cars. and most of these were test n tune days, which i know not many of you guys go to. I always travel in the summer, except for this summer, so hopefully i will join you guys this year in different events if you dont mind a vette hanging with all those camaros lol

Nice photos Tom. not sure which I like more. The NOS pantera looks fun. However if I could fit I wouldn't mind taking a couple laps in the GT40. I really like the Shelby (not a ford) and who doesnt love a Lambo.

Thanks, I had never seen the Shelby before. My son was in love with that Lambo. I actually forgot my disc for the camera but luckily we parked right in front of a Radio Shack.........$60 later..you can never have too many disc's

Good call on the trunk, but do you carry cutters and extra ties for when you need to use it??

Advanced weasther report for Wednesday does NOT look good. Looks like rain. Rainman must be going!!

Tom, we A6s have options too. Traction control on, traction control off, traction control in sport mode, paddle shifting....... And it does make a difference. I lost 1/10 sec last week and gained a butt load of wheel hop taking traction control off.

YOu may want to bring your DRs if you want to beat us!! :>)

Still, don't think I'll win one so i might as well go faster

I loved chris's post about the bone stock manual winning the trophy...lol

Just goes to show that what Pepper has been preaching for years is so very true...It dont matter how fast you drive but how well you drive.

Now Kirk has even more of a problem..He is in never never land at the cusp of 13.99 and under.... If he runs good he is going to be in a much harder group of much faster cars....Like 3 seconds faster which have much better drivers and a ton of automatics. If he runs slower he will be accused of dogging it and being a sandbagger. He will have to drive over his shoulder so he does not break out which will be at least one thing he will be responsible to do and is actually much harder than shifting gears. Poor Kirky....i feel so bad for him.

The real competition of the club is really now between Tom, Chris and Pepper....all manuals by the way. No offense boys but my money is on Pepper cause she seems to really understand the whole dial in concept and until someone else dethrones her she is the only one with bragging rights.

Rain Wed night....damn that just figures..oh well...Stick shift series Saturday anyway.
