Halltech CAI???

Im looking for a CAI for my camaro I have narrowed it down to either roto-fab or CAI but now I see that Halltech has come out with there kit. It has a velocity stack on the end where the filter goes to increase and smooth out intake flow... I think it makes sense. They say they have been making CAI for vettes for years now but I still dont know much about Halltech. What do people think?

Both intakes are great. That being said..Intakes are a lot like shoes. Almost every manufactuer will hang their hat on some kind of advantage, but they all net pretty much the same results in terms of how the car drives. What that means is in reality, it really more a matter of style, and what features resonate the most with you and your wallet.

Halltech is the intake for vettes - I have one on my 08 Z06. Quality is fantastic and the research/data collection is great. Jim is always on the cutting edge of anything he has done.

Most important, it will give you the performance Jim says it will give you - NO BS, no marketing gimmick! Only intake that will be on my Camaro will be Jim's.

I know some of the players in the Camaro intake market from the vettes - enough unanswered questions/BS there - I won't be buying based on that. I suggest doing your homework.

As said above, intakes are a matter of preference - lots of hype to weed thru!

Both the Haltech and Rotofab have radiused inlets under the filter. My guess is that both would be very similar in performance. Grab the one that you like the looks of and fits your budget.

I think the Halltech and Roto-Fab are very close in both design and price. So between those buy the one that looks better to you.

Personally I like both systems a lot. I think I'm leaning a little more towards the Roto-Fab for a couple reasons. First and foremost I like the box design a little better on the R-F. Halltech's goes out to the side of the shock tower whereas the R-F goes in front of the shock tower. You can see so some small gaps between the box and the shock tower on the Halltech. That design is closer to what LMR did and a couple people were having rubbing issues/paint scratching where it touched the shock tower with the LMR (although that's probably been addressed now). Good thing is that is easy enough to fix with a littl rubber. But then again that's something the Mfg should address IMO. Second, I like the fact that you can get a color matching box with the R-F. Probably something Halltech will address so it may not be an issue. Third, and I know this is trivial, I like the R-F sticker just on the inside of the box so everyone can see it.

Just my take.

One step ahead of you. What you were looking at was our Camaro that has had prototype heat shields on and off maybe 100 times for fit and finish prior to our production version.

Here are some initial instructions. Good catch.

Thunder Racing just installed another Halltech Camaro Yellow Jacket. The result was +15 RWHP just from the intake. They ordered 5 more for stock.

We have been manufacturing induction systems for the LS series Corvettes since 1998.

Jim Hall also designed, fabricated and sold 7 of these Twin Turbo systems for the C5 back in 2002-2003:

Halltech is the only intake used by Katech Engine Performance, the company that did most of the dyno testing and valve train testing on the LS1, LS2, LS6, LS3, and LS7/LS9. They utilize the Halltech intake on their dyno mule as their standard for all testing.

Jim Hall has personally tuned over 425 LS7/LS3/LS6 motors in the past 8 years and was the first to tune the 2006 Z06. Here is the before and after just from tuning. NO intake change on this dyno:

Our new line of products:

Finally, do a Google of Halltech Killer Bee. That will help explain.

it looks good, but the box is to large and seems to take over the right side of the engine bay.

IMO it should be a little smaller. just a thought.
