Dropped the Camaro off at the dealer for warranty paint work..having 2nd thoughts

We have a Rally Yellow 2SS RS with painted ground effects, and painted black stripes. When I was washing it the first time, I noticed that the paint on the rear bumper was not right. Basically, the paint is kinda translucent like skim milk. If the light hits it right, you can actually see some black (or whatever color the bumper is) through the paint. When looking further, I noticed the rear steel fender, rear plastic bumper, and rear ground effects (dealer painted) are all different shades of yellow. The ground effects actually look the best oddly. So I took it to the dealer, and they said they are gonna try and make it look better and respray some stuff. My concern is..I have never had warranty body work done on a car. I am starting to worry I am opening up a can of worms I don't want having body work done on a basically new car.

Anyone else been through this yet?

As long as they do the prep and paint correctly, you shouldn't have any issues from having the work done. Generally you'll be o.k., but don't accept sub-standard work.

hey MD speed my name is chris and i talked to you about 2 weeks ago i am the one with the SIM 2SS/RS in St Marys county...anyway i had my stripes painted on cause i didnt like the vinyl ones. I had the work done at Gary Best Kustoms in Waldorf and he did a great job so if you dont like what the dealer does for you then give Gary a call and he will fix you up...and dont forget about me i am still thinking about which headers and exhaust i want i will be in touch soon. Possibly whomever painted the rear bumper didn't shoot it thoroughly...enough coverage.

The GFX paint will (or should) be the same specs as the car. Maybe they did a better job at shooting these than the factory?

You're leaving it at the dealer and your worried about the paint? I would be far more worried about the tires and how many extra miles will be on it after wards.
