40 laps is less then 7 hours of racing in 3 days... it's far away from being Schmidt or Rorhl

That's just my opinion that I got based off of a few things I've read to include that mag. Im not claiming to be an expert just throwing in my thoughts off of what i read..and ya i saw the road course times it does handle well but for what i can only forsee as a small fortune sticker...it better.I really wish they would get rid of the live axle tho..I'm not bashing in any way I encourage the GM Ford grudge...we as owner's are the real winners.

Did I mention the new 500 has its own drag tree...and drag apps like a 1/4 mile setup with a 2step...lol

After a rough day of reading rough posts this thread made my day. Jalopnik's chicken chuckle just made me laugh, lol. I needed that.

Thanks, OP, for this thread. Their comments were worth it.

Uh, those times are for the 2011/12, which can be had for 49k out the door.

The 2011 gt500 turned in great numbers at the track and cost less than the zl1, but I agree 50+k is a small fortune for a pony car

Yep, the chicken chuckle made me cackle too.

Please take that mustink to the 'ring. I need another good laugh.

Reminds me of Kirk in "The Wrath of Khan."

I am a chevy man. Have been all my life. But I do own three fords now. But one ford has, a chevy motor in it. And I do own a C6 vette also. Just wanted to put that out there, before I make this comment. Chevy may want to be a little careful, with that statement!!! Or they may be like the Man, who chased the TIGER, until he caught him, & then did not know how to let him GO.. I would not under estimate the GT500.

OK, how about this thought:
Take two Ring expert drivers
Give each one 10 laps in the 'Maro & the 'Tang
Average the 3 best laps in each car with each driver
BAM! fair and even,
STILL BET THE 'MARO KICKS BUTT!!!

Aahhgg I cringe every time I read or hear "maro" lol.

I think junkie just likes to try to make me sound bad you and I both know I was talking about the 2013 GT500 when i said "from what I can only foresee as a small fortune" if the 11/12 were 50K I can only imagine what the 13 will be with all its new bells and whistles.

Don't get me wrong its gonna happen to the ZL1 as well. We all know that after the release of the HP #'s by ford and awaiting track #'s the boys in the GM house just went..."well...shit...let's see what we can do for 2013 model year ZL1 to top it." And yet again...we the consumer are the winners
