are the gears worth it? How much would a shop charge to install? Would you do headers or gears first?

No matter what I would plan on changing out the rear end bushings while I was there.

Thanks, I read that post, but did not see that anyone had actually measured up the new gears to confirm the 218mm gear size.

That should be all you need that I can think of. Now you just need to decide which brand of bushings you want to go with. Personally I like Pedders of Pfadt....they aren't the cheapest though.
