Only if it's been "ported" if not all you have is a shiny Cnc'd TB bud, what the point? if it's still 90mm.

well that's what I am asking. I have only seen pics. The factory throttle body is more open in the front vs at the blade. Which part is 90mm? is the blade 90mm or the front?

Blah blah, I need to look at the stock one more closely and measure what is 90mm and where in the path, etc.

I had the opportunity to keep my stock TB and get a V-Max...because I bought a replacement TB and sent that one as the core. Looking at the two side by side, I could see the differences. I didn't bother to measure any of it because measuring it won't change how the thing performs. I installed it and drove the car immediately. And the gains were consistent with what V-Max claims. I hate to say it, but I did feel an improvement in acceleration. And I hope it wasn't the placebo effect because it felt legitimate. It wasn't a huge rush, but it was consistent with the differences I felt when I did the pulley swap and the Predator tune. I could reinstall my stock TB and see if it feels slower...maybe I will.

Would you do me the favor of posting some pics with measurements? Front, rear and the blade? Please, others and myself would like to see it first hand. If not I'd understand.

You guys are lucky that I'm a loser with no life and nothing important to do. I'll take some pics later. But just to let you know, there is another guy who did this swap and posted pics. I'll try to find the thread and save myself a bit of handiwork...

having a bigger opening isn't always the answer. its also about velocity. look at venturi's principle. this is one of those mods where it isn't always about the HP added but about the driving experience...THROTTLE RESPONSE. by porting or reshaping the intake side of the throttle body(and the "exhaust" side of the tb), it increases the velocity of air flow into the throttle body which directly effects throttle response. you could think of it like a velocity stack for the intake manifold.

In a closed system mass can be neither created nor destroyed (law of conservation of mass, simply, what goes in, must come out), and as such, the volumetric flowrate at area A1 must equal the volumetric flowrate at area A2. If the area at location A2 is smaller than A1, the fluid must travel faster to maintain the same volumetric flowrate. This increase in velocity results in a decrease in pressure which follows Bernoulli's equation.
