HID bulb problem
So the other day my passenger side bulb stopped working. I thought it was burnt out so I decided to buy a new one to replace it. Turns out even after replacing it the bulb still doesn't turn on.
Now a few weeks back I had a couple separate moments when the bulb would stop working but the next day the light would be back on so maybe something is loose in there? I can't figure out what the problem could be. Obviously the bulb isn't bad something has to be loose any ideas?

You could have a ballast that went bad. I had that happen. What I have noticed is that when I used the automatic headlights, they only output half the power and then bulbs aren't made for that and it burns out my bulbs. I have replaced 3 bulbs in my car already. What is wierd is the fogs lights have never burned out in my car and I have had them for over 3 years. But they are at full power when they are on.

You'd need to buy a new ballast which I don't think GM sells as a seperate part. So you're going to have to buy it from eBay. Either that or you could take it into a dealership if your car still has warranty

Stephens where on Ebay did you buy your ballast? Is there a specific one i need to get. I see a lot of random ones have no idea really. Also how hard is it to replace the ballast? Do I have to remove the whole light assembly? Gmpartshouse has the ballast for a whopping $150 is that what they will charge me if i go to the dealer? sigh
Sorry for all the questions. Thanks guys.

They'll probably charge you more at the dealer and add on the labor to put it in. You need a D1S ballast. You should find them if u search 2010 camaro oem headlights, I know I've seen a ton.

So I was looking inside the housing to see if anything was loose and I found this small blue connector not attached to anything. Could this be the problem?

Bought the ballast hopefully it's the problem. Should be installing sometime this weekend. I think i remember reading somewhere that i can get to the ballast through the wheel well without having to take the bumper off?

So what the heck. I bought the new ballast and one night before I even get a chance to install it my light just randomly decides to work again... It's been 3 days now and it's working just fine. Didn't change a thing. Anybody have any clue why it just randomly stops working sometime?
