What did it put down at the wheels? Could you post a dyno if you have it? Has anyone checked the clearances for the G6X3?

The G6x3 is worth 5-8rwhp under 6k rpm 10-15rwhp above 6k rpm over the TSP 231. I did the swap between the two cams but no longer have access to the dyno graph. I'll do the swap again in the near future with a Camaro previously owned by Jason @TSP.

Give a call to LG and TSP to help you make your choice. LG told me when I called that it (G6X3) some might think it feels "spongy" at the low (below 2500 rpm). Tradeoff for the higher hp. I wish I could tell you first hand my thoughts. Probably be another few days. Then up to a month for the tune. Crossing my fingers I didn't royally screw the pooch on the install.

Hi guys,
I heard a few guys say which one is best, or which one is better. Well if it was as simple as that there would only be one choice. In that case we would have one camshaft and that would be the only one sold. Fact is you need to choose the cam that is right for you, your car, and your application. When looking at cams, be honest with how you drive the car, where you spend most of your time at RPM wise and ultimately how you want the car to drive. Now is the G6X3 cam a good cam? Darn right it is It holds most of the records for HP, TQ, and 1/4 mile times in both F-bodies and Corvette's. So making power isn't a problem with the cam, again it might be for everyone, some may want something smaller and more focused on lower RPM power like the G6X1. Or maybe you want a cam that has a very small lope, that doesn't sound much different than stock in which case we have the G6XE cam. Have forced induction...well we have cams for those as well. For the most part on the manual LS3 cars with our headers, cold air induction, G6X3 cam kit and full tune I would see anywhere from 482 rwhp to 494 rwhp, and most are generally in that range. Those with more modifications like intake, throttle body, and head work can see 500-538 rwhp; at least that is what I have seen so far on a stock short block. The G6X3 is on the bigger side of things so it does have a good lope at idle, it is going to require some tuning, and of course be focus more towards the middle and upper RPM area's for power production. Of course if you have any questions, feel free to hit me up any time. |

My car made 481 RWHP and 453 RWTQ with some bolt ons!! Lethal Performance in San Antonio, Tx installed a TSP 231/236 TSP Cam, Fast LSXr 102, TSP underdrive pulley and tuned it!! It resulted in a gain of 80 HP and 60 TQ! I was very happy with the way the car turned out! All mods are listed below! Not bad for a few bolt-ons, cam and stock heads!! Next on the agenda is to port match the heads and intake to put me around 500 RWHP and 475 RWTQ!! Still with a stock long block! The car is daily driven and is not just a 1/4 mile car, more like an allaround DD that can get you from point A to point B really quickly!! Forgot they ported the stock TB too! Before the cam, t-stat, Fast intake, TB porting, and the TSP under drive pulley the car made 401/393 the the wheels with a very mild tune! I would recommend Lethal to anyone in the Texas area, it is worth the drive and like Danny said to me many times, "you get what you pay for"!!

Guys I've dyno tested lots of camshafts on the engine dyno in the ls3. It's just not as simple as bigger is better. The bigger cams have less piston to valve clearance any typically at this point give up to much down low and mid range power in search of 2-3 extra peak power from 6000-6400.
I plan on running the ls3 on the engine dyno in a week or two. If you think you have a magic cam that does a better job than the 231/236 bring it over and we can install and test it together. We will also show you p/v clearances for the different camshafts we test. |

Is the TSP 231/236 a blower friendly cam?

@Bell040,
I have to agree. One hell of a write-up.
