Thats exactly what i used!!! I just have to wait until tomorrow to go pick up my paint then its all smooth sailing. Side note.....were your pieces a slight milky like color after you were done stripping paint off?

Yea, but I used my adam's polishes to clear them up after, followed by isopropyl alcohol. After that it should be pretty clear, be careful and look for any spots where it needs more sanding though. Remember that the first cost is what shows so if you miss anything, or paint on top of anything, it'll show. Post pics when you're done!

I originally intended to overlay the outside, but I have been having difficulty finishing the pieces either via polish or clearcoat. I had seen this thread and followed the instructions on removing the paint from the backside and figured maybe I could do carbon fiber on the inside and not have to worry about finishing.

Well, here are the results! It's hard to tell from the pictures, don't mind the fingerprints, but the depth is still there.

It was awesome! Much better that those other versions actually made of carbon fiber, carbon fiber plus the depth i wish to see in the door panel how its look like.

Now I'm assuming no clear coat is needed for the painted pieces? Nothing in this DIY says clear coat is needed so I don't want to spend extra $$ for non needed materials.

Nope, no clear coat! Since you're painting the back of the piece, the front side of the piece itself is your clear coat Just remember to take your time and not rush it. The most aggravating problem is when you discover small silver flakes, that you missed while sanding, in front of the color you just painted

Took almost 2hrs to get perfectly clean, used krud kutter and 0000 steel wool. + a lot of patience. Plan on doing the other one soon then putting some paint on them.

Yes I want to do this but will not start until I know what screws to buy. You guys that have completed this must have a source. Please share. Also more info on the carbon fiber. Thats the way I'm leaning since I have a black car. Thx.
