Yea, but I used my adam's polishes to clear them up after, followed by isopropyl alcohol. After that it should be pretty clear, be careful and look for any spots where it needs more sanding though. Remember that the first cost is what shows so if you miss anything, or paint on top of anything, it'll show. Post pics when you're done!

Now I'm assuming no clear coat is needed for the painted pieces? Nothing in this DIY says clear coat is needed so I don't want to spend extra $$ for non needed materials.

Took almost 2hrs to get perfectly clean, used krud kutter and 0000 steel wool. + a lot of patience. Plan on doing the other one soon then putting some paint on them.

I'm doing this soon. GM could save us all a lot of trouble by selling these in OEM colors or clear like this. That would awesome.

Does anyone know off hand what size screws you need to reinstall the panels into your doors?

Yes I want to do this but will not start until I know what screws to buy. You guys that have completed this must have a source. Please share. Also more info on the carbon fiber. Thats the way I'm leaning since I have a black car. Thx. |
