Front License Plate Bracket
Hey Everyone,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I purchased a SIM 2LT RS about a month ago and have been very happy with it. Like many others, one of the only issues I have is with the unattractive front license plate bracket. Here in the land of 10,000 laws, we have to have a front plate so I would like to have one that distracts from the car the least. So, I've been looking into building a custom bracket for my 2LT out of hard plastic. I have a prototype designed that mounts to the lower grill without drilling holes in the car and that can be easily removed. I will try to post some pictures of the prototype A.S.A.P. I would like to gauge what kind of interest there would be in this bracket if I was to make a production run. I think they would retail for around $50. I would also like to know if there are and SS cars in southern MN that I could use to design a bracket for those style grills. Thanks, Matt

Based on previous threads, there's plenty of interest. You'll definitely need to post those photos though.

Search the posts, seems that there has been numerous posts about front plate placement....IF you have to put the plate on front, not really sure wherever you put it it has to be seen, it is your car put it wherever...good luck....

Probably lot of interest. Its hard to find one that looks good IMO and the hideaway ones are expensive. Definately post pics though. Lots and lots of pics.

I agree. The ones that look decent all seem to be around $100...if you keep it at $50 or less, I think you sell a bunch.

I'm interested as well.
I tried the "Show N Go" manual license plate frame solution but the 2LT front fascia has too steep an angle and the plate when up would be angled as-well. I tried to get a bracket fabricated to attach one of the two bolts holding the fascia then attach the "Show N Go" to that bracket but no one seems to be interested in doing it. Looking forward to pics.

I'd be interested. Pictures please?
Minimum height for plates in Hawaii is 12". Maximum doesn't apply. Thinking of compression/clamp bracket through grill, too. BD Speedshop bracket is too low. I'd consider Top Flight Repro if their final pricing is not too $$$ for an adhesive mount, bent plate design. I don't have my car yet and dealer will drill and mount stock GM bracket unless I provide something before car is prepped locally. |

I bought mine on E-bay and I love it, there are no holes to be drilled and it looks awesome, I paid $100.00 for mine, so if you can make one for $50.00, you should be able to sell plenty of them.

Camaro Gopher, hopefully you'll come out with something soon. I don't want holes drilled into my car. Pics please. |

i have it and love it!! yes you have to drill, but its under the bumper rather than in plain view. plus it gives you the option to hide it for car shows, track days, etc..
