While there is no comparison to those 50 cals...

I have a new boomstick. The wife got me one of these for Valentines day:

Smith and Wesson M&P 15 Sport. I've been wanting one for a while.
For the price it seems to be a pretty decent little AR clone. Can't wait to go cap some terrorist soda cans and see how it does.

I am building my wife an AR15 for a belated Valentine' Day gift. She doesn't know it yet so SHHHHHHHH!

DPMS lower (because she likes cats)
put together lower parts kit with Daniel Defense trigger
Magpul MOE stock
YHM smooth rail
14.5" mid length stainless barrel with permanent phantom flash suppressor
aimpoint H-1 that happens to have our initials as the beginning of the serial number
Troy BUIS
Spike's tactical BCG

I'll post a picture of his and hers when I get hers done.

I guess there's no Canadians on this thread; This is a huge deal, gun owners have been fighting the gun registry since it was inacted in 1994. Bill C-19 passed, no more registrering of long guns. Woooo...... hooooo......

That's pretty cool. I certainly want to see the pics.

All I got my wife for VDay was a Ruger 10/22. We have differing levels of "the sickness".

Any of my Gen 5 Camaro brethren know what it is?

Can't "build" you an AR because I would need a manufacturers license but I have access to Cali legal weapons through several companies
Whatcha got access to? I'm still learning what I like/want/can legally own. No real decisions made yet.

I found that exact same pic on these guys website. A gun maker in texas makes them as well.

http://smgguns.com/

After looking at them I would love to have one as well but I can't see dropping $5,000 for one.

That's where I'm buying mine from. All in all, it is a lot of $ for a rifle. The ones being made in Germany by SSD are being sold for $7,000 - $10,000, depending on the Type you buy. They will never come across the pond to the USA for sale. The ones being manufactured here may only be made in limited quantities which, over time, will make them more valuable - that's almost always the case. Case on point: He auctioned a few off from the first batch he finished to recoup some quick $. The first one he auctioned sold for around $5300 - the second one he auctioned sold for around $7500. Hype sale? - yep. But who knows? If he stops making them at one point, they will only go up IMO.
