New Car!!

Hey guys, i currently have a 2013 2LS. i was thinking about getting rid of it and getting a SS. My question is, should i get a LS3 or a L99? i am going to add a lot of performance mods to it. can you guys tell me your personal experience with whichever engine you have. thanks for the help

Well that depends... do you want an auto or manual? Once that decision is made, then the engine question is pretty obvious lol

Do you want stick or auto. I went with the LS3 because I wanted a manual transmission and didn't want the active fuel management(which I believe can be tuned out).

LS3 is more fun because it's a stick but a L99 can be tuned to shift faster than humans, thus making 11's easier. LS3 has more power, 426 vs L99 400. If you want an auto but want a LS3, get the L99 and to a LS3 conversion

IMO for track times auto aka L99. But can't go wrong either way.

You plan on DD it? I know sometimes DD a stick can be a pita. Espically in heavy traffic.

Auto is better for racing. Manual is more fun to drive.

By 'track' you mean 'strip' right? My understanding is M6 is superior on the track, and A6 is on the strip.

Either manual or auto is fine. i am going to do bolt on work, maybe even some forced induction. which one would be good to handle all that work without having to change too much of the internals?

M6 superiority might be because of control but on L99's you can always use your flappy paddle gearbox lol

It depends on your goals with the car but a L99 is going to be a little better with forced induction because of the lower compression and easier on drivetrain parts. If you go with a LS3 and are not a experienced manual trans driver you won't get full potential out of the car and could end up with a lot of parts breakage. Just my 2 cents.
