The pros out weigh the cons since there isn't much. I will plan on ordering the recaros, but now I need to figure out if I should do 1SS vs 2SS. That is for another thread

Thanks guys

I really like the stock SS seats honestly and would not invest 2K into those. I'd rather buy a cam swap kit from Vengeance Racing for 1999$ installed and tuned LOL

Seriously, they rock, but its too expensive for me, AND I love the stock seats.

I am 6'3" and my head hits the head liner in a GTO. How are you fitting in one at 6'9"? We are talking new style GTO right, not one from the late 60's?

Recaros vs factory seats

Posting this here as well just so I can get as many ideas on how to show the buckle touching the panel.

Here's a picture of where the buckle rests when it's hooked into the shoulder strap/clip. This wouldn't be an issue, but I gave my sister a ride today, so she had to buckle the seat belt into the shoulder strap/clip. Normally it is undone.

I think (not sure), but I think they raised where the stop for the buckle is located. Here's a picture of the back of the belt:

This is a picture of my door panel after the drive home.

Now, you're probably thinking I'm talking about that white spot - not exactly, the white spot is where the buckle hits when it's not hooked into the shoulder strap/clip. So a week of driving and I've already got visible white rub marks on my plastic - I'm sorry, but that's just flat out unacceptable.

If you look at the top corner of the picture you'll see a section of the door panel that's a different color than the rest - yea, that's from a 15 minute drive.

This goes back to my question of "how did dozens of fleet drivers, driving tens of thousands of miles miss this, but I find it before I even finish my break in.

All I can think about, is what happens when I autocross? Do I need to put tape over my seat belt buckles so they don't scratch up the door panels?

If anyone has any ideas how I can visually show how much the buckle hits the door panel that'd be awesome.

The other flaw is the loop starts tearing away from the seat. I feel bad for our members who paid 2k for seats that are flawed. The bigger question what's being done about it. This is unacceptable.

+1 - for $2,000 I really would have expected them to do more R&D with these things.

I'm long legged but I rock the seat back. If I even try to sit up straight my head will hit. But I can fit in a 5th gen as long as there is not a sunroof.

When thinking about resale 10,20,30 years down the road recaros, NPP, 1LE, RS are money in the bank. 40, 50 years down the road these will be the most sought after cars and a Recaros car could sill for $4-5K than a regular one.

That's a whole lot of speculation based on no fact at all.

I think your mistaking the 60's cars with the modern ones. I would not buy options based on future value's. Get what you want and can afford in your budget.
