FYI: Take that $100 a month you are saving on the payment and save it for tires....You will need some sooner than you think

Good going on the undercoating. I plan to do it once my ZL comes out of hibernation (I got snowed in shortly after taking delivery!).

Congrats; Sweet looking machine.

I would highly recommend against undercoating a modern car.

For me it is purely from the mess it makes on the underside that plain sucks to work on.

Just do a search for "undercoating a modern car" and read some of the threads...

Thanks again everyone! I just finished detailing it and getting the stickers removed. It looks great in the sunlight! I'll post up some more pics this evening.

Dropspeed - I tend to undercoat my cars because of where I live. The dealer actually did a great job in applying. For me it has more pros than cons but to each their own right? That's the best thing about cars IMHO, is the ability to make it your own how you like it.

I have had a lot of experience with undercoating, and IMO for cars on the Northeastern Seaboard it helps tremendously against underbody corrosion. I've made a practice of undercoating all of my new cars. It isn't as messy as one would think, as long as its applied correctly. You generally want to apply it to exposed floor panels and frame rails (where applicable). Modern cars use galvanized steel, but galvanized steel alone isn't a 100% foolproof solution against corrosion (as my 97 cavalier would've easily demonstrated).

Granted my good cars will not traverse rain or snow or salt roads, the undercoat is good to have a safeguard for times when you do get caught out there (it happens...as some may or may not admit). If I were situated in Arizona or away from the rustbelt states then I'd probably think twice; In NY with the salt spreadings and slush, safeguards will help extend the life of your underbody against corrosion if applied properly.

2010abmss - Something like that... It's a rental. Those lights were up there when we moved in a year ago. It's seen 3 rotations of families since then. Honestly, these guys are quiet though. If those lights are the worst thing I have to deal with, I'm ok with it. I've had much worse.

lbls1 - Absolutely. I'm in Colorado now. And like New Mexico(my former location), it doesn't snow a lot outside of the mountains. But when it does, they drop an absurd amount of salt on the roads. Since the little snow on the ground evaporates rapidly, there's always salt on the ground through the spring until a good first rain flushes it. It's still good to undercoat regardless I think.

Took a whopping 30 minutes or so to do the papers and get the keys. My insurance went down about $25 a month from the Lexus to the ILE, and I got some additional perks. Got the Clear bra on all front facing surfaces, corrosion undercoating, and teflon paint sealer coating thrown in for free! My car payment came down $100 to boot!
Greetings and congrats!

Looks great! How was the initial driving experience?
