dealer can't sell me car because hes waiting for paperwork?
my car arrived at the dealership today but my dealer said he can't sell it to me until the early part of next week when he receives some "paperwork" from GM. Is this true?

Sounds like he wants to keep it around to either drive it or show off on his showroom floor!

TRM had to wait a few days for his invoice also.
Don't worry about it; sounds legit.

It seems that the invoices are not going exactly as it should. Sometimes the cars are showing up before the dealer gets them. Usually the dealer is invoiced the car before it gets shipped. However in some cases the car is either showing up with no invoice or in my case the car shows up a day after the invoice does.

The dealer needs the invoice, MSO and window sticker before you get the car.
This is a fact and the dealer must comply with federal and DMV regulations. He's not delaying you so that he can show the car.

When a car is on quality hold it stops everything. My car and others are also waiting for system to catch up. My dealer is going to let me drive on dealer plates until paper work is here.

You're not the first person this has happened to here. It's annoying I'm sure, but it's not a sign that your dealer's trying to pull the wool over your eyes.
