Chips in windsheild

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but..

I just got done washing my car today, and when going over the windshield, i noticed a ton of small chips out of the glass. Anyone else have this problem?? Its almost like my car got pelted with rocks, but i cant even remember a time when a rock hit my car (I'm the only person to ever drive it)

Not sure what you're environment is like there in NJ, but here in NE regular interstate/freeway driving will get you pits, chips, and a sandblasted appearance on your windshield. I don't drive my car daily at all, but when I do drive it, I avoid the freeway. Too hard on the car.

Ive seen this happen to all the cars I've owned. The interstate always makes it worse. I just buy a new windshield after I get tired of looking at all the rock chips.

Yeah. Ive just never had it this bad. Even my truck thats a 2001 doesnt have as many chips as my 8 month old camaro. Looks like the dam thing got sandblasted when you look at it from inside with the sunlight on it.

If you have the HUD, stand by for a shock. I am told the windshield is around $900.00

I got a large chip on the way to work 3or4years ago ,I think it was safe- lite, came out, Any way they did there fix-repair on the windshield in the parking lot, but he also fixed many of the smaller chips at no charge, looked way better than before..

I have the HUD lol. Yeah not going to waste 900$ just for 10k more miles to go by and it need another one.. Do they use cheap glass or something? Makes no since to me esp since the angle of the glass is much steeper than most cars.. would think the dmg would be less not more.

My 2010 Camaro's w/shield has dozens of sand blast type chips after only 22,000 miles.
Worse than any other car I've ever owned.

Mine is so bad I need to get a new windshield. If I'm driving into the rising or setting sun it's bad. Almost un-safe. :(

Something to think about...

I broke mine being stupid one day after a wash. I insisted on OEM replacement and it in fact ran $878.00 installed. Unfortunately, my deductable was $500 so I ate that much myself. Insurance covered the rest.

Check your deductable...
