so what exactly are you hptuner guys doing to a 2010 camaro ss? I have a 2ss/rs mn6 and my roommate just got the beta version of hptuners and all weve done so far is disabled my rear o2 dtcs. What are you guys doing about timing or fuel, or anything else really

Uh, you dial them in according to what the engine needs... There's typically one way to dial in an engine calibration.

I'd suggest that you and your friend read up on the HP Tuners forum.

There's a modifier table for the PE ratio that adds timing... so what you see in your high octane table isn't exactly what is going to happen at WOT.

I am in the same boat. I have ARH's long system, Borla S type axle back, and a CAI. I am going to use the HP software as well. I was hoping someone would have a base tune that could be shared and I could adjust accordingly for my elevation. I have looked on the HP site and there is nothing for the Camaro. Maybe this is too much to ask for but worth a try.

People aren't usually willing to share tunes, and the stuff in the repository is questionable, at best. Do you have a wideband?

No, I don't have a wideband. Is this necessary?

Yes for WOT Tune, when you have it installed be sure it will be before the Cats, do not do the same mistake that I did.

We tune it just like we would any other LSx vehicle. There is nothing unique to the Camaro that hasn't been in place since the early LS1 days. Some of the tables in the computer are a bit different and there is more to adjust but the method is the same.

If you're interested in tuning, then I suggest attending one of the tuningschool's beginners classes before starting to hack into the computer of your new car.

what he said. i have a L99 2SS/RS. have cai and catback exhaust. i first used a diablo tune which did nothing at all. i went to cincy speed and had a custom hp tune - holy shit, now thats what i wanted in the first place. really woke my car up. i would be leery of tuning it myself without much experience or someone there that has some. but i certainly recommend the hp tuning software though.
