Madrid Cruise

I think everyone agreed on the following for the Madrid Cruise:

We'll meet at Old Town Hotel Albuquerque at around 10 AM Sunday. That should give us plenty of time to cruise up through the canyon and on up to Madrid.

We'll roll through Old Town and scare everyone with our herd . Onto Route 66 (Central) all the way to Tijeras making everyone turn their heads and look . Then, head north to Cedar Crest.

Stop at Cedar Crest (if you guys want) at one of the two strip malls there. Show off the cars, take a breather, and have a cup of coffee. Then, head on up to Madrid for lunch and tourist shopping. On the way, we'll roll through Golden, NM and scare the few folks that live there . When I say 'few', I mean 'few'.

After hanging out at Madrid, we can continue onto I-25 and branch from there. People can head home to Albuquerque or go on up to Santa Fe .

Keep in mind, we cannot speed through Tijeras and Cedar Crest. The place is crawling with cops and they set up speed traps everywhere.

Is this a go?

Update on Ivan's car:

I spoke with the Paint Team Manager this AM. The car (and parts) is to be painted black today. Then, reassembly will begin, hopefully, starting today. The stripes will be after reassembly. It just might be ready by Friday. Keep your fingers crossed.

Just tried to call. Not quite open yet. I'll try again here later today.

Here's the link to the spot I'm thinking that you're thinking of:

I tried to get a completion date outta Jim yesterday/this am but to no avail. I'm hoping (really really really) hoping that I'll be able to make Sunday. If it's not right though, then I will be a no-go.

I know one of the fellas isn't going to be able to make it and I'm already thinking about us planning a new one down the line just so he'll be able to show off his....ahem....429ci.

I'll know more tomorrow..I'm sure.

-Ivan Way UP!
Hope you make it. I'm guessing the 429ci you are talking about must be Andre. He has to make the next one.

Looking forward to meeting you Ocikat, and Nasty Nate. Welcome to the forum and our little Albuquerque Chapter.

yeah, we plan on doin the track day and then the IAS show.
We sure do wish we could do all the events this weekend but this has been scheduled
since February when my buisness partner passed away, and in his memory I am willing
to go in to the mountains and stay drunk for three days straight.
Have a good time all, I'm pretty sure I will but if I do it right I won't remember it.

Hello All in New Mexico

I live in Albuquerque and I have IBM RS Camaro I am the one running around town with the fire fighter plate. I just joint up and was looking around the treats it looks like you guys have alot of activies going which sounds like alot of fun. However after looking at my calander all of the activies that you have plained are taken on my calander(work, car shows). My car should be in a car show at the balloon grounds on the 17th form 10 am until 2 pm I did see that there was a car show of your own on that day. But if you would like to swing by the car show is a fund rasier for MDA. I will keep checking to see when I may joint in on the fun.
