Any discounts on Camaro to compete with Ford $5000 discount?

I've still been holding off on buying a Camaro as the pricing is not right for me...1000 bucks off MSRP is just not at the sweet spot where I can pull the trigger.

Now Ford are giving $5000 cashback and $1000 costco discount, which sweetens the deal for a Mustang. Aargh. Choices choices.

I wonder if Chevrolet will do any additional discount to compete or just leave things as they are because the Camaro is profitable enough for them and the demand is there.

The 2011 5.0 Mustang is about $10k cheaper than a brand new Camaro 2SS fully loaded, and its lighter and little bit quicker. I speced out a nicely equipped 2011 5.0 GT on the Ford.ca site, and it came out to $39k. Also, Ford Employee pricing might come into affect at some point in the summer. They'll have to respond in some way to offer rebates on the Camaro. When your biggest competitor is $10k cheaper with better performance numbers, you can't justify being more expensive for too long. They have to match.

I'm glad we were able to get GM employee discount on our 2SS, otherwise we would have waited.

Dude do yourself a favour go get a car broker and go get a US 2ss for low 30k. The dollar is par now its insane what they are charging us now. Ive seen them in the 30-32 range all the time. We have members here with tax's included broker fee's 36k out the door. Kicks the crap what i paid for a 2LT. Why wait.

Yeah I went to a dealer yesterday too. He couldn't give me pricing on a 2011 (no pricing on the computer system). However he said to expect it to be 3% to 5% more than 2010 Canadian pricing with no discounts or promotions in the pipeline. Unless something happens in the next few weeks, they've lost my business to Ford thank you very much. I may like the Camaro body but I don't like it THAT much.

Come on GM Head Office, get your act together!

Sure if you have the cash for it. Some people want low interest financing as going with a bank loan is still 6 to 8%.

I have noticed lately that there are quite a few used Camaro SS's showing up here and there at various dealerships. Some of them are bringing up Camaros with 3-4000 kms on them from the States that are way cheaper than getting them brand new. Those cars might drop a bit in price too when the 5.0 comes out. The 5.0 is great. But I still love the Camaro SS, and I'm hoping that the market changes in the next couple of months. GM wants to be the Pony car king. If that's they're goal, they can't be $10,000 more expensive than the Mustang. I love how Ford is going to undercut the Camaro. Its great competition and we should be the beneficiaries of lower prices. Let's hope.

Mustang is not a Camaro and Vice versa..... the problem is Canadian price gouging!!!!!!!!!!!!
just imagine how many more Camaros would be bought in Canada if we paid in Yankee dollars at yankee prices...no need for brokers and guarantee headaches!!

The stock SS Camaro 6 speed is quicker than Mustang and Challenger most of the time!!

Paid 48300 C$ in June 09 for 2SS RS standard packages with all available options except auto tranny...now should be able to only pay $ 38000 in Yankee dollars at any Canadian dealer!! Someone tell me why not??? EH!!!
