New gears clutch noise
I had new gears put in a couple of weeks ago. I don't think they put in friction modifier. I changed the oil and put some in. I've driven it about 100 miles since I changed it. I'm still getting clutch sounds from the rear when I turn corners and get on it a bit. How long does that friction modifier take to get in between the clutches?

go into a parking lot and do about 4 to 8 figure eights in both directions to work it into the clutches

what do you mean you "turn the corner and get into it"? Are you trying to get the rear to swing out? What kind of noise, chatter? If just the gears were replaced the clutch pak isn't touched. Only time I hear of this is when peeps do a clutch kit replacin the frictions and steels. And the shop should have used LS gear oil, friction modifier already in it..good luck!

It didn't do it right after I got it back. I'm guessing they didn't put it in and the regular oil got in between the clutches and started making noise. I'll do some 8's and see if that fixes it. I would have thought just driving around would take care of it. We'll see...

they did put in SYNTHETIC gear oil, right? if they put in dino that could be an issue...
