I think with a hydraulic clutch in yours, I think your best bet is to just learn in the Camaro itself. Depending on how old someone else car is the clutch might be significantly harder and might make you not want a manual car. Just take it slow and practice with the v6, like with anything in time you will learn. Best of luck to you.

Cheers mate,

I'll be going to the group meet this Saturday, in Anaheim. If you're there, I'd be happy to spend some time with you and get you comfortable with the manual. You can do it! Once you grasp a few new idea's, you'll be cruisin' around town with no trouble. I guarantee! In fact, you'll wonder why you never had one before. Automatic's suck! Especially in a Hot Rod.

No worries. It's like riding a bicycle. Once you know, you know. You'll be smooth right out of the dealership, I'm sure.

Did you get the call yet? No? I'm still waiting, too.

So true, I had not driven a stick in probably 4-5 years, but last winter I test drove a 6spd R/T Challenger and it came back instantly. Looking forward driving the Camaro really soon!

Frst thing I would do is hit up a rental car place. If you find a 4x4, it will make the learning process that much quicker.

I actually tried to find a place that rents out manual transmissions so I could learn, but every place I called said they stopped renting them out years ago.

I had to go to Illinois to use my grandmother's vehicles (everything she has is in stick).
